50% citric acid

How can I make the 50% citrc acid?

On a weigh scale: 50 grams dry citric acid + 50 grams water.

I am wondering if I was making the 50% citric acid wrong because


I was using a measuring of a tablespoon of distilled water and then the same tablespoon of citric acid

I was going by volume not weight

Hi Stephen. Yes do it by weight and use the same units of measure for both - grams , oz , #, tons :>) .

I measure with a tablespoon the water and the citric acid which means its the same volume

but I don't know if they are the same weight (they are probably not)

I get from you that I have to buy a scale to be able to get the same weight in water as citric acid

can you tell me how much of a difference in potency of the mms that I made when I used equal

amounts of volume of water and citric acid instead of equal amounts of weight ??

This weight thing is good to know as I have also been using volume. Thanks. Look forward to hearing the difference this makes to potency.
