DMSO onto open wound was created by Small
We have an HIV patient open ulcers on his legs. We are going to use the 20:20 2oz spray.
Can we spray DMSO over the wounds and should we wash it off after a few minutes ?

You can put DMSO on open wounds. I've done so. Sometimes it had to be rinsed off because it just stung too much to leave, and sometimes I was able to get away with leaving it on. The only reason I would rinse it is if the pain was too bothersome. If a bandage was going over DMSO that hadn't been rinsed, I'd make sure the DMSO had been absorbed first, and that the bandage contained no synthetic fibers. A friend of mine was using DMSO on his ankles, and the synthetic elastic fibers in the socks he put on right over the DMSO eventually caused a major irritation.

You mmmight want to note that 70% DMSO should be used on the wound (if not lower), and not the 100% type.... as it will burn a lot more being that it's 100% DMSO.

Absolutely. I've heard it said that 100% is not even as effective as 90% or lower. Don't know if that is true since we do not use 100%, but we've never had any issues with the effectiveness of 70-90% dilutions.
