hi everyone
i am just curious , why is CDS yellow ? is chlorine dioxide gas yellow ? or is it some other chemical element that give of the yellow color for example the citric acid or the other 50% that is in the citric acid or the other 72% that is in the sodium chlorite since as i remember right the sodium chlorite is only 28%

CDS is the gas in activated MMS1/Citric Acid. If you make the activated MMS1/Citric acid, it is yellow, also.

hi Pam
i know that the mix MMS and citric acid turns dark yellow to brown and when you ad water it gets brighter yellow but i don t believe that that is the gas in my mine the gas would be the fumes that it releases and those fumes look white ???????? so why would the gas mixed with water be yellow

I do know that the gas that goes across the tubing, as you make CDS, is yellow - so there is something (and probably a chemist can tell us better) about the mixing of the MMS with the CA that creates a yellow color which is in the gas (and why the activated MMS/CA would be yellow).

Yes. As long as it is yellow, the gas is there. Wikipedia writes:
Chlorine dioxide is a chemical compound with the formula ClO2. This yellowish-green gas crystallizes as bright orange crystals at −59 °C.
I know that when I've used it for the gas alone to kill mold (like I did in a suitcase over Christmas break), the activated MMS will turn into a clear liquid, once the gas is gone. (I did that out in my travel trailer, would not do it in the house BTW)
